Bellbrook has always been known for its great fly-fishing and trout fishing, but it is also known as one of the prettiest fisheries in the country. For the past few years it has been rated in the top 30 out of 500 UK fisheries by the country's leading Trout fishing publication Trout Fisherman. It is set in its own 40-acre valley in Exe Valley between Devon and Somerset with an abundance of wildlife, including deer, badgers, foxes, rabbits and buzzards as well as many wild and rare flowers and plants. It provides a heavenly setting in which to “re-charge one’s batteries” and is known for its superb trout fishing with peace and tranquillity.

Our fishing resort location in Exe Valley, Devon boasts 7 lakes in all and 5 that are stocked that all fish differently and we offer specimen only lakes. We can also provide fishing accommodation and tuition.

As well as catering for seasoned fly and trout fishers we also offer events and tutorials for beginners wishing to take up fishing at our resort on the border of Devon and Somerset and across Exe Valley. Due to the calming nature of fishing we also offer corporate fishing events and team building events and days allowing you and your team to work together in a different environment, often bringing out the best in the individual.

We offer a range of packages for groups or corporate teams providing instructors for the less experienced or beginners, all the equipment needed and laying on of a sit down lunch in the our idyllic fishing resort for those who want to take in the beautiful sights of Devon and Somerset UK.

Our five acre Fly fishing Lake lies secluded in a beautiful and tranquil valley; a fold within North Devon’s rolling countryside.

Rainbow Trout are stocked all year with some of the largest stillwater Trout in the Country!  Brown Trout are stocked from April to September. All trout are produced at Blakewells own Fish Farm, so anglers will be guaranteed razor finned hard fighting fish and plenty of them in our crystal clear spring fed waters.

We offer a full range of fly fishing equipment from the tackle room. Snowbee fly rods and lines, and their fly reels are exceptional quality at a good price. We are happy for you to take the chosen combination out onto the lake and try before you buy. Tackle hire is available; the full combination. If you are just starting, or left your kit at home, we carry all the tackle needed to hire for a days fishing.

Bring the family to Blakewell Trout Fishery and Water Gardens and catch some trout, it is a great family experience. You can always just have a go at feeding the fish. We are a fully working fish farm; learn about Trout and Carp production from egg to adult stage.

You can Learn to Fish at Blakewell with easy casting for beginners. Fly fishing Tuition can be arranged in advance at £40 per hour with all fishing tackle provided - Please enquire for further details and booking.

The lake holds a wealth of natural food with winter nymphs.

Fly hatches spring onwards, producing excellent top of the water sport. Trout are trickle stocked as required.

This attractive Dartmoor trout fishery is one of the most tranquil and picturesque natural angling venues in the South West. Fly fishing from the bank is for stocked rainbow and blue trout up to 5lbs. Fantastic news for anglers in 2019 as we are stocking a lot of fish at 3.8lbs plus. There is a good head of natural brown trout which are catch and release only. There are two fishing boats which are managed by the Burrator Fly Fishers and can only be used by club members. Set on one of the highest points of Dartmoor, this picturesque reservoir offers traditional fly fishing for wild and stocked brown trout. We stock fish up to 4lbs with the average size being 10-12 inches. Fishing is from the bank only. Traditional dark fly patterns (Black Gnats, Bibios, Beetles, and Hoppers) as well as sedge patterns (Invicta) work well. Fish the margins and walk the banks to cover as much water as possible. ‘Catch and release' option available (barbless hooks to be used), otherwise up to 4 fish over 7" may be taken in a day.

Best Flies: Black Gnat/Invicta/G & H Sedge/Dry flies July onwards.

Why not try our special ‘Castabout’ season permit which covers all our Brown Trout waters (Fernworthy/Roadford/Colliford and Wistlandpound).

Set in the midst of the beautiful Blackdown hills, in a secluded hidden valley surrounded by woodlands containing a rich variety of wildlife. We are open all year round from dawn to dusk offering fresh fish, gourmet fish products and most importantly superb fly fishing.

Fly fishing is available on two lakes and pool offering over two and a half acres of water with depths to fourteen feet. This provides a variety of challenges for anglers of all skills. Stocking levels are carefully monitored throughout the year to ensure a great fishing experience. Our fish are kept in excellent condition and have a deserved reputation for their fighting qualities and flavour. The lakes are stocked with with fish from one and three quarter pounds up into double figures.

A full range of fishing options is offered, from taster tuition sessions, through accompanied fishing to full corporate days. There is a well stocked tackle shop on site.

Please note we close the fishery at 7pm to give privacy to those holidaymakers staying on site.

The Jewel in the crown of fishing in the South West, this stunning Dartmoor water is stocked weekly with rainbow trout up to 7lb, with the occasional double figure fish to 14lbs. We also stock a large amount of blue trout which provide a really good fight and great variety. There is a resident head of wild brown trout up to 8lbs (all brown trout must be released if caught). Access at the lake is restricted to anglers only. Traditional Fly fishing only and ‘Catch and release' is available (barbless hooks must be used). The local fishing club, Kennick Fly Fishers Association organises competitions, beginner’s days and social events based at the fishery. If amazing surroundings and great fishing is what your looking for Kennick is definitely the place for you.

There are boats for hire, but booking is essential to avoid disappointment. The wheelyboat for disabled anglers should be booked 48 hours in advance.

We have five lovely fly fishing lakes that are nestled on the edge of the Dartmoor National Park and are fed from the River Tavy.

This Lovely fresh water keeps our weed growth to a minimum and our oxygen levels high.  This explains how we are able to grow lovely specimen trout that are fighting fit, with good tails and taste good!

Our lakes are stocked most days with Triploid Rainbow Trout and every week with Triploid Brown Trout, Tiger trout, Blue trout and Golden Trout. Our Record Rainbow stands at 31lbs-11oz and our Record Brown is 16lb-4oz.
